A while ago I got one of these Alienware DHS2 Media Center machines. If you're not familiar with Media Center, it's a PC that you can watch TV on. It's got all the functionality of a Tivo, only it's a lot more powerful. So anyway, it's a great machine and I've really enjoyed using it. However, there's been one small nagging problem that just wouldn't go away. No matter what I did, or how I hooked things up, I could always here the audio track from the second tuner at a lower volume. It got to be really annoying. After a lot of searching, I have finally found the solution. It appears that Alienware goofed when they assembled the unit. They hooked up an extra audio cable to the tuner card. This extra cable was causing me all the pain.
The fix? Remove the cover, and look for the TV Tuner card. On it, there will be 3 wires connected. Two of them are grey, and the third one is black. Unplug the middle (black) cable and you're done. Problem solved.
