All my life I've heard about how Milk does the body good. While that may be true, nobody ever told me that other beverages can also do the body good. As it turns out, red wine can do some good for your body too. And wouldn't you know it, I'm a big fan of wine. While I'm not particular about red or white, but I don't mind focusing a little more on the red variety if I know that it's going to improve my overall health. Here’s a quote from one of the recent news articles on the subject:
"Wine, long considered a health elixir from ancient times, can be incorporated into a healthy style of life. Many studies have been published indicating that drinking a moderate amount of wine daily helps lower LDL cholesterol — the “bad” cholesterol — and raises the “good” cholesterol, HDL. Moderate drinking reduces the risk of ischemic stroke, the most common form of stroke. The antioxidant properties of the phenolic compounds in wine reduce the risk of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and heart attack. While excessive alcohol consumption can create high blood pressure in many people, moderate consumption seems to assist in lowering blood pressure." (Article Source = Sierra Sun)
Now, excuse me while I figure out where I left my wine glass.
