It's been a long time coming, but I've finally ordered myself a new machine. My old ThinkPad lasted 4.5 years - which is pretty long in computer years. I'm hoping to get that much out of this new machine.
I took a different approach to buying this machine. Most people are going for the larger screens on their laptops; Not me. This Fujitsu Tablet has a 12.1 inch screen and it's super small and light. I fully expect to be able to use this in comfort on an airplane! Don't be fooled by it's small footprint, it's a killer on the inside - Dual Core 2.16GHz, 4GB RAM, 120GB HD, DVD+-RW, Bluetooth 2, USB2, and a super sweeeet SXGA+ screen that will do 1400x1024 resolution.
You can check out the full specs on the Fujitsu website.
It's my first non-ThinkPad laptop so I am a little nervous, but I expect everything will be fine. It's set to ship the middle of next week. So if everything works on schedule, I should have just over a week to configure it before I fly off to Seattle. Now I just need to find a good solution to image the hard disk when it arrives. There's always more work to do...
