You Zune, Me Zune, Red Zune

I've just taken delivery of my latest gadget and my first (real) dedicated MP3 player. Why red? Well, why not? I'm not sure I like the brown or pink versions and black/white is just main stream. Wink I've got a special version on order for my wife - it's going to be a real limited edition Zune thanks to ColorwarePC. I'll post more details on that when it arrives in a couple weeks.

In regards to the Zune software, I've been fairly impressed so far. It seems pretty easy to use and manage your music, pictures, and videos. The only real problem I've had is trying to tell it what not to sync. It's grabbing all my pictures in the "My Pictures" folder. While that might be what most users want, it's not for me. I would rather have a little more control. But that's just me.

The unit is actually pretty slick looking and fits nicely into my hand. I've only ever seen the Zune in Fry's on display. So it was nice to actually hold on to one without that silly display unit connected to the backside. The device is red on the inside and then covered in a clear external case. This gives it a frosted red look. Plus, it helps to ensure that the red won't scratch, at least not directly. I'm thinking that I'll need to get a screen protector for it soon. No biggie, I actually need one for my BlackJack anyway, so I'll just order a couple of them at the same time.

Anyway, that's it for my thoughts so far. I'll be sure to post more as my usage and experience grows.
